You know where you'll find me most mornings?
Well, it's not so much where, but with what…
You'll find me with coffee in hand.
Doesn't matter if it's sweltering our arctic outside, coffee is the morning ritual I can't live without. I've already discussed how I make it iced, with a jolt of protein from collagen (and why you should too), but one aspect of my coffee obsession I haven't yet shared with you is how to make the perfect Trim Healthy Mama coffee creamer.
It's a simple concept, really: cream, sweetener, and flavoring.
But getting it right?
Well that's a whole different ballgame.
Lucky for you, I've been working really hard on upping my coffee and creamer game, so I've got a Trim Healthy Mama coffee creamer recipe for you + 7 coffee creamer variations for you today. They're all simple to make, require ingredients you probably already have in your cupboard (because you're a Trim Healthy Mama) – and I've done the heavy experimental lifting for you!
If you haven't really started filling your cupboards with THM-friendly foods, I'll give you heads up on what you'll need to make these recipes:
- Cream
- Fat Free Half & Half
- Trim Healthy Mama Pure Stevia
- Trim Healthy Mama Super Sweet Blend
- Vanilla Extract
- Toffee Stevia Drops
- Caramel Stevia Drops
- Full Fat Coconut Milk
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
- Ginger
- Mashed Pumpkin
- Allspice
- Molasses
- Chocolate Stevia Drops
Here's the basic Trim Healthy Mama coffee creamer recipe that I whip us when I'm out of (or not feeling) the other special ones.
- 1 cup Fat Free Half & Half
- 1 cup Full-Fat Whipping Cream
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 6 Doonks Pure Stevia Extract (or ¼ cup Super Sweet Blend)
- Put all the ingredients in a jar and stir to combine.
- DO NOT SHAKE as this will start to make whipped cream, not coffee creamer. Store in a jar with a tightly-fitted lid in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Makes 36, 1 Tablespoon servings
Now for the fun part!
I've created 6 variations of Trim Healthy Mama coffee creamer just for you!
These versions are all THM:S, because that is my preference in the morning. As a bonus, add 2 scoops of collagen to your coffee + fun creamer for a meal in a coffee cup. It's a great way to start the day.
But if you prefer a THM:E or THM:FP for your morning, there are really easy substitutions. Sub Almond milk, or all fat free half & half to eliminate fat and carbs from the drinks, or fat free coconut milk (it's hard to find, but it's out there) instead of full-fat coconut milk.
Spices, Stevia, and Vanilla Extract are all Fuel Pulls, so substitute accordingly depending upon your needs!

These are great recipes – thanks so much for sharing! I dont usually buy the commercial ones, because of all the chemicals in them. Now I can enjoy them again 🙂

Why fat free half and half?
admin says
Good question! I use fat free half and half if I want the recipe to be an FP or E, heavy cream if I want it to be an S. You could also use almond milk if that is your preference.
Niki says
What is fat free half and half? I’ve never heard of it…I’m from Canada and we have 10% cereal cream, 18% coffee cream, and 35% whipping cream…
I would love an E or FP option, but I don’t like almond milk in coffee! ?
admin says
Oh wow – learn something new every day! Other alternatives could be fat free coconut milk, or even skim milk. I know skim milk is not recommended on THM, but it might be one of the only alternatives if you don’t have Fat Free half & half. I believe 1% milk in moderation is also ok. I’ll have to check on the fat content!

I live in Edmonton AB and we have Fat-Free half and half BUT they have sugar in them probably because of the reduction in fat. So I will not buy them
Brooke Rohner says
Im confused as to why “fat free” half and half? My husband works at a creamery and is freaking out because of what they have to do to the product to make it fat free half and half? Whats your thoughts?
Charla says
What do they do to it? Sounds scary
Erika says
Have you tried gentle sweet in any of these? I do have both the super sweet and gentle sweet, I prefer the latter of the two. 🙂 Just curious how it would turn out. And wondering if you do a mocha creamer as well? Thx!
Charla says
Do you have a recommendation for Hazelnut ~ pretty please with THM stevia on top 🙂
Theresa Byrd says
I would love that recipe as well.

Fat free half and half actually has sugar in it. I am questioning if this is really on plan?
Check the ingredients!
Kristie says
There was just a discussion of Facebook recently about the fat free. It is not on plan due to added sugar and technically not 1/2 and 1/2 any more with what they do to make this and chemicals they add. Most moms agreed they would rather go over their fat amount a little than have the fat-free. 🙂 I’m interested in trying the almond milk version!
Lauren says
Howdy! Saw in the comments mention about almond milk. I’d like to make this for a lactose intolerant friend of mine. How would you recommend substituting? I don’t think they make almond milk half and half; at least, not that I’ve seen in my grocery stores. I’d also like to try cashew milk as an alternative (it’s creamy and nice!). Thanks!
Christine says
Can’t wait to try all your coffee creamers!

What is doonks?
Kathy Bowles says
You should not put mollasses in the gingerbread version, since it is sugar after all….
