This year has presented me with a new challenge as the holidays have rolled around: How do I make candies, cookies, and the other desserts that I love having around during the holidays while still adhering to Trim Healthy Mama guidelines? I’ve already posted about my absolute favorite THM holiday dessert recipe – Pecan Pie Bars – but as my sweet tooth seems to have exploded because of all of the delectable recipes posted on Facebook and Pinterest, when I saw BuzzFeed’s recipe for M&M Buckeyes I knew that I had to modify them to be THM-friendly ASAP or I… Read More

Perfect THM Pie Crust {THM:S}
Right around the end of September, when the leave start changing colors, the weather turns cooler, and minds start thinking about the holidays, my husband’s mind turns to one thing and one thing only: Pumpkin Pie He’s a fanatic – I kid you not. He’s kind of a grinch when it comes to Christmas, but you better believe that he’s asking for pumpkin pie as soon as he starts seeing leaves on the ground. I’m not as much of a fan of the pumpkin pie as he is, and doing Trim Healthy Mama doesn’t exactly lend itself to buttery, flaky… Read More

9 Reasons Why Trim Healthy Mama Is Right For Me
I remember the thought that went through my head at the precise moment I was handed Trim Healthy Mama for the first time: “Any plan with a name like this just isn’t for me!” I mean really, I’m a feminist in the truest sense of the word, I’m not really into rabbit food, and reading an honest to go paper book? This was not happening. But my Trim Healthy Mama journey has been one of the best things I’ve ever done. It’s helped me shed weight, have more energy, eat and exercise more, and so many other things. My 3 Year Nightmare + What I Did About It
Image that you’re surrounded by fresh water. Not salt water, fresh water, that is safe for drinking and that tastes great. You’re surrounded by this water and you have a cup in your hand. You’re thirsty, so you take a glass of this water and drink it. But you’re still thirsty, so you drink another glass. Then another. And then another. You’re drinking, and drinking, and the water tastes amazing, but no matter how much water you drink, you’re still thirsty. That has been my nightmare for the last 3 years. I know what you’re thinking: “She probably has diabetes…. Read More
Chopped Clean Oriental Chicken Salad
Even though I’m a self-proclaimed chocoholic, there are SOME healthy foods that I could live on for the rest of my life. The Oriental Chicken Salad from Applebees is one of those foods – except it’s not healthy. The version from Applebees has 1,290 calories (and entire day’s worth of calories for me!), 82 grams of fat and 2300 grams of sodium. Way, way unhealthy for a salad. Unfortunately, many salads found at restaurants actually have more calories than an entree, but the taste in this one is right on point.
Coconut Flour Brownies
Man, I love me some chocolate! But chocolate and paleo/clean eating (or halfway paleo) don’t really mix. I had kind of given up on having brownies for the next, well, rest of my life until I ran across a killer deal in Sam’s Club during my monthly enormous shopping trip. You know what it was? 5 pounds of organic coconut flour for $8.98 – a crazy good deal! To give you an idea, the exact same thing sells on Amazon for $17.21. <br /> I had this crazy idea to make coconut flour brownies. Brownies with no refined sugar, gluten… Read More
