{Low Carb, Ketogenic, Sugar Free, Grain Free, Gluten Free}
A simple recipe for homemade Keto Sloppy Joes that is free of sugar using unsweetened ketchup, veggies, and ground beef that still tastes like the real thing! Ready in 20 minutes for a super simple dinner.
Keto Sloppy Joes
I think for most anyone, ground beef is an easy choice to make for dinner.
Whether you buy it at the grocery store, or purchase a cow share in bulk from a local farmer, or even order quality grass fed ground beef to your door from ButcherBox, ground beef is affordable and easy to cook.
However, it can get a bit boring.
Especially when you're on a low carb or ketogenic diet.
You can only eat so many bunless burgers, meatballs, and soups before you just really need something new.
And that's exactly why we love Keto Sloppy Joes.
Not to mention the fact that they freeze and reheat well, don't require shaping in a special way AND you can easily sneak vegetables into them!
P.S. Sloppy Joes pictured here are served on Unbelievabuns & with turnip fries!

FAQ for Keto Sloppy Joes
What type of ground beef can I use?
I will ALWAYS advocate for buying beef locally, or sourcing quality grass fed beef from suppliers like ButcherBox. We buy grass-fed beef locally, but if you're buying from the grocery store, and 85/15 is best.
Can I use ground chicken/turkey/pork etc?
Sure can! The texture may change a bit, and the overall macros will also differ, but I've made them with several different proteins before and they're quite good.
Can I freeze Keto Sloppy Joes?
Yes! Divide into quart bags or souper cubes to freeze in portions that are easy to reheat.
Can I pressure can Keto Sloppy Joes?
Oh my goodness yes! And please do! I canned a bunch of keto sloppy joes when I was cleaning out our freezer. You can't beat the convenience of shelf-stable healthy meals.
A few tips for canning:
- Only halfway brown your ground beef, then follow the directions until the end.
- Before you pressure can, top off each jar with beef broth until you have 1.5″ of headspace.
- Don't pack your jars too tightly, or air cannot escape around the beef to create the seal.
How should I store Keto Sloppy Joe Leftovers?
Store in an airtight container or bag. Use within 7 days.
