Between homemade, vegetables, and types you can buy, it's really hard to determine the best low carb pasta brands. I've put together a guide to help you determine not only healthiest low carb pasta, but the one best for your specific way of eating, be it low carb, ketogenic, THM, or paleo.
The Best Low Carb Pasta Brands
I don't know if you've noticed, but low carb pasta is popping up EVERYWHERE.
It used to be that you either had to shop amazon or a few specific sites like Netrition for specialty products like pasta for special diets.
Today, you can not only pick from a HUGE assortment of low carb pastas on Amazon, you can even walk into Walmart and find some options (not my favorite, but still), as well as MANY new manufacturers of low carb pasta coming to the market.
It's confusing.
There are SO MANY options, ranging from vegetable pastas to highly processed noodles, and I'd be hard pressed to call one option better than another.
So I've put together a guide to the Best Low Carb Pasta Brands to help you decide which are best for your time, way of eating, and budget.

Categories of Low Carb Pasta Brands
There are TONS of pasta options, so in order to kind of keep this article more manageable I've devided them into sub-categories:
- Vegetable Pastas
- Homemade Pastas
- Fiber Pastas
- Gluten Pastas
I know those categories don't make sense at the moment, but hang with me here while I explain…
Vegetable Pastas: these are basically spiralized vegetables (zucchini, squash, etc) with a few notable exceptions like hearts of palm pasta such as Palmini or Natural Heaven.
Homemade Pastas: All sorts of options like egg noodles, almond flour noodles, and more.
Fiber Pastas: Pasta made with lupin flour, psyllium husk, or other fibers. A better options, but can cause some digestive distress.
Gluten Pastas: These noodles contain vital wheat gluten, as well as other fibers. Tend to be highly processed foods.
Where To Buy Low Carb Pasta Brands
Grocery Stores: for veggie pasta, and low carb pastas with gluten, your local Walmart or Target is a great place to start.
Vitacost: I'm listing this online store first, because of their great price + they're ALWAYS having a sale. If they don't currently have what you want on sale, wait a day or 2, and they will. Plus, a great variety and low free shipping minimums.
Amazon: always a ton of products, always at a good price, and fast shipping too. I make products easy to find with my storefront.
Netrition: Another online store full of healthy options. Save $$ with code FITMOMSJOURNEY
Low Carb Vegetable Pasta
You've probably heard of spiralizing or seen veggie noodles in the fresh or frozen section of your grocery store.
Tools to make veggie noodles are everywhere and range from completely hand-cranked to stand mixer attachments. There's a tool for every budget and storage space.
And, there are SO MANY veggies you can spiralize and then use as a low carb pasta alternative:
- Zucchini
- Yellow Squash
- Carrots
- Beets
- Sweet Potatoes (not so low carb, but paleo)
- Cabbage
- Cucumbers
- Butternut Squash (paleo option)
- Kohlrabi
- Broccoli Stalks
- Turnips (paleo)
I have a whole article (with recipes!) on veggie noodles that details all the tool options, vegetable options, and more information found HERE
You also may have seen fresh spiralized butternut squash or zucchini in the produce section of your grocery store. They are most often this brand:
Options in the frozen section are also popping up, and they tend to have lots of varieties:
Vegetable pastas are good for all ways of eating: Keto, Trim Healthy Mama, Low Carb, or Paleo. Simply choose the option that fits your macros best – and that's a veggie you enjoy eating.
I also wanted to include alternative vegetable pastas like Hearts of Palm pasta and Miracle noodles.
Personally, I think Hearts of palm pasta is the absolute BEST. Super versatile, tastes very mild, and affordable to buy. You can find brands like Natural Heaven and Palmini on Amazon or Netrition.
Miracle noodle is another type of vegetable noodle readily found in most grocery stores and online retailers. Check out Miracle Noodle on Amazon or Netrition.
Homemade Low Carb Pastas
So many recipe bloggers have developed awesome keto pasta recipes with ingredients ranging from eggs and almond flour, to vital wheat gluten and gluten free flour.
But even though there is a range of diets and nutrition needs that homemade low carb pasta will work for, I'm confident that homemade low carb pasta is the best budget-friendy option.
- LowCarb-NoCarb's Homemade Keto Spaghetti: made with eggs, cream cheese, and fiber of choice – and excellent choice for low carb, keto, gluten free, grain free, Trim Healthy Mama.
- The Big Man's World Keto Pasta: made with mozzarella and eggs
- Almond Flour Pasta from Snixy Kitchen: gluten and grain free egg noodles
- Keto Pasta Noodles from The Hungry Elephant: made with vital wheat gluten, so unsuitable for gluten or grain free diets, but quite low in carbs for keto or low carb, if you can tolerate gluten.
There are so many homemade pasta recipes and most of them are really great, so the above is just a sampling.
You may need to purchase specialty ingredients in order to make these pastas such as fibers or thickeners.
iHerb also offers many products with low free shipping minimums and you can almost always find a coupon code for $$ off.
Low Carb Fiber Pastas
These are my favorite types of pasta – and they're fairly new to the market.
Unfortunately, this means that they're still quite expensive.
I like them personally because they cook nearly the same as regular pasta, I don't have to physically make them, they don't contain gluten, and my stomach and digestive system can tolerate them (becuase gluten isn't an option for me)
The fibers these pastas contain are lupin flour or psyllium husk most commonly.
Lupin flour, especially is high in protein and low in carbs, which makes it my favorite.
A couple brands of Lupin flour pasta stand out:
- Kaizen Pasta: made with fava bean protein, lupin flour, tapioca starch, and xanthan gum. 3.5f/5nc/20p. However, this pasta is $11/bag (4 servings per bag)
- Lupii Lupin Pasta: made with sweet lupini flour, chickpea flour, and tapioca. 5f/30nc/26p
Kaizen Pasta can be found on Netrition or Amazon.
Lupii Lupin Pasta can be found on Amazon.
All of these pastas can be found in my Amazon Storefront.
Gluten Pasta
The final, and most processed, type of low carb pasta is pastas which use vital wheat gluten (and possibly other suspect ingredients).
You've probably seen these around, as there are lots of brands:
- Great Low Carb (Netrition, Amazon)
- Impastable (Netrition, Amazon)
- Lulu Pasta (Netrition, Amazon)
- Carba-nada (Netrition, Amazon)
Here's the concern with these products: gluten is NOT a health food.
Sure, it tastes great, and vital wheat gluten (the ingredient in these pastas that make them taste like real pasta), while low in carb, is no better for you or your gut.
These pastas are, however, more affordable than the lupin flour pastas, but it's really up to you whether or not they fit into your way of eating.
