Pasta House Salad Recipe
The pasta house salad recipe is one that I wasn't introduced to until I worked at a small italian restaurant during college.
This salad was MAGIC.
The artichoke hearts, bacon, red onion, parmesan and italian dressing all work together to make a salad that absolutely explodes with flavor in your mouth.
It wasn't until I had graduated that I ate at a Pasta House and realized that I KNEW how to make this salad, because I literally made it every single night as a server.
What Makes a Memorable Salad?
The reason this salad is so great, is because it has all the elements of a balanced, flavorful salad:
- All of the ingredients are tossed with dressing before being plated. This ensure that ever single piece has dressing on it.
- Chop your bacon into small pieces for a nice bit of crunch.
- Use more than 1 type of greens. This recipe calls for iceberg and romaine, making the texture part of the fun.
Ingredients for The Pasta House Salad Recipe
- Iceberg Lettuce
- Romaine Lettuce
- Diced Roasted Red Peppers
- Artichoke Hearts
- Thinly sliced onion
- Crispy bacon, diced into small pieces
- Provel cheese
- Grated Parmesan
- Shredded Parmesan
- Italian dressing (make your own to keep sugar out of it)
